POLISH IRAN

Photograps 2002

My first brief contact with Iran happened during my transit journey to India in 1999. It was only for a few days but straight away I knew, I have to return to this country in the future. The overland trip to India resulted in an acquaintance and 2 years later again I was in a bus to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Most people in the world do not have much notion about this country, despite major media and headlines regularly mention its name. There is a lot of propaganda circulating in the mainstream, particularly propagated by United States of America and its allies. At the time I went to Iran, most of my friends would not see the difference between Iran and Irak and the cardinal word that would be associated with this country was "terrorism". My personal experience has been very contrary to the popular belief and even after many years I still claim, that Iranians are the nicest people I ever met.
In this gallery there are pictures mainly from the year 2002 with a few from the previous transit.
