The Grand Place is the main central square of the old town in Brussels with its soaring tower of the town hall.

This little square in the centre of Brussels is called: Mountain of arts - Mont des Arts (French).

In 1847 in Brussels, it was the first shopping arcade in Europe with a glass-covered rooftop. There was a reason why they called it - The queen's gallery - Galerie de la Reine (French) - Konninginne galerij (Dutch).

"Manneken pis" which in Dutch means "a little pissing man". This famous statue was erected in the year 1619 and became one of the best known landmarks of Brussels (if not Belgium). The present figure is a replica, which dates back to the year 1965. This copy of the effigy is made of chocolate in one of the many waffle's shops across Brussels.

Brussels has a large population of Muslims, mainly from Morocco. As Muslims consume a lot of meat in their traditional diet, they demand animals slaughtered in a distinctive manner called 'halal'.

Brussels has many green squares and parks varying in size. These venues are great spots for many inhabitants to do some physical activities.

On Saint Huber's day, animal lovers, together with their animals, gather in front of a church to take part in a mass dedicated to animals. Before the mass on the chilly day the human participants drink small alcoholic drink to warm up.

St. Charles Borromeo Church (Dutch: Sint Carolus Borromeus kerk) situated in central Antwerp, built in the year 1626. It was renown for containing 39 paintings of Baroque's superstar – Rubens, which were destroyed by fire caused by lightening in 1718.
