POLISH CHINA

Photograps 2004

People's Republic of China is the most dynamically changing country in the world. Perhaps there is no other country, where history and tradition are so much intertwined with the state of art technology and development as it happens in China. This frenzy of progress has its aftermath in pollution and puts pressure on the environment. Therefore for example, clean and drinking water is in short supply. My monthly stay in the country was limited to a few places in the eastern part, from the very North to the almost Vietnamese frontier. From Poland to China I went by trains using the transsiberian railway line throughout Russia and Mongolia. Crossing the border between Mongolia and China, it is like entering another world, where the amount of rushing people, flashing neon lights or so peculiar alphabet make an enormous impression on a traveller in contrast to the previous scenery.
