POLISH CIESZYN

Photograps 2007

Cieszyn is mainly associated with border town between Poland and Czech republic and the river Olza splits it between the 2 nations. The town has a turbulent history behind and it was one of the most important towns in the Silesian region. The castle chapel from XI c. called the rotunda of saint Nicolas is one of characteristic points in Cieszyn and its image is printed on the Polish 20 zł. banknot.
In 2007 I had the pleasure to visit Cieszyn throughout a few weekends. The place has its specific ambience and the fact that one town is divided between two nations creates its uniqueness.
